Melnik's urbanonymy: The case study of the development of the names changing of streets in Melnik during the 19th and 20th centuries

This diploma thesis deals with the dynamic changes of the street terminology system in the town of Melník from the second half of the 19th century to the present. There are cases where it is necessary to study, which are located under the field of historical toponomastics, respecting its parts that have urbanonymy. The works carry out, show and analyze the issue of street names that move in the town of Melník during the period under review. The work is in five places, the first part of which consists of analysis and heuristics, which allows the analysis of documents, especially documents that are focused on documents that are part of the Melnik archive and Archive of Department of Construction and Development of the Municipal Office in Mělník. Remember that you keep in mind the city councils, you write down the city's national committee, letters etc. The second chapter, which is part of the subchapter by period, lists historical developments that have urban and significant changes. The third place is the municipal toponomastic analysis of Melnik street terminology from the point of view of basic onymic functions of urban names and from the point of view of the use of honorification names. Historical names changing of places in Melnik

This bachelor work deals with historical toponomastic example urbanonyms of town Melnik. It focuses on names of streets and public spaces in the town during second half of 19th century and 20th century. The work summarize and describe cincurnstances, when and why the main streets, avenues or squares changed. The work is separated into three parts. First charter is splited chronologicaly for example The First Republic, Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, post-war period etc. Second part of the work is dedicated to analytic processing of collected data. Also, the second chapter deals with the princeples of naming, motivation, onymic functions of urbanonyms and the occurence of individual street names. At the end of the work the phenomenom "Lieux de mémoire" by Pierre Nora is applicated in a system of the streets. The conclusion of the thesis is a description of the genesis of the different types of names, which gradually began to appear in Mělník. The work also summarizes the issue of honorific names.
